Mrs. Peters called this morning at 6:44am to let us know that they all arrived safely in Peru at 2 am this morning. They are now getting ready for their eight hour bus ride up the mountain. All of them are well, just tired. :) Continue to pray for them.

Peru Missionaries Update #2 – 1:13 pm Monday February 25, 2008 Mrs. Peters called: they are 14,000 feet in the Andes mountains stopping for a cup of coco tea for altitude sickness. But everyone was feeling pretty good. They are half way to their destination of Kimo. They have a really good bus driver. They ask us to continue to pray for traveling safety – it had rained a quit a bit yesterday and some roads are in bad shape. Everything is going great!

Peru Mission Trip Update #3 – 6:28 pm Monday, February 25, 2008 As of 6:28 pm our missionaries had not arrived in Kimo due to several rock slides along the way. They were all in good spirits and had an excellent bus driver.

Peru Mission Trip Update #4 - Mrs. Peters called today at 10:00 Am with an update from our gang in Peru. Everyone is Healthy. They have made it to their location just fine and are ready to get to work for the Lord. The trip across the water in the dark last night was a little frightening for some but Our God carried all across fine and all is well. They are now over looking a jungle and it is pouring down rain. They are asking us to pray that the rain will stop before 3:00pm so that they can have Vacation Bible School! More Updates will come soon!

Peru Mission Trip Update #5 – 8:30 am, February 27, 2008 Mrs. Peters called this morning and said that everyone is doing great. Yesterday when they called for us to pray for the rain to cease she said that at 1:30 pm the sky above them was clear and blue with clouds all around them. They were able to have VBS in the sunshine so we praise God for that answer to prayer. Approximately 70-80 people came from the village and 1 chief came with several people. It is raining now so please pray again for the rain to cease so they are able to have VBS.

Mrs. Rose found a website posted by a gentleman who has gone on a missions trip with the missionaries in Peru that our group are with. Below is the link to his website, which has some images and information about the ministry from Lima and Kimo Peru, so you can get a feel for what our students are experiencing. Enjoy!                 http://www.syzygy.org.uk/Peru.htm

Peru Mission Trip Update #6 - 8:15 am Thursday, February 28, 2008 Mrs. Peters called this morning to report that at exactly 2:44 pm yesterday the Lord stopped the rain and the sun came out. VBS begins at 3 pm. The Lord is good and His timing is perfect! Today the team will be heading to La Merced and the waterfalls in the area. The sun is shining brightly today! :) Mrs Peters reports that all are continuing to do well and that she was able to play a trick on Emily Connell, Chelsea Oxendine, and Anna Poole that will be "YouTube" worthy.

Peru Mission Trip Update #7 - 8:30 am - Mrs. Peters called. Everyone is healthy and having a great time! Thursday was their day off and they were able to tour La Merced, walk in the mountain jungle, and swim in the water fall. God is so good. Everyday we pray for no rain at 3:00 and God has been faithful. Then on Thursday, their day off, no prayer went up to stop the rain and at 3:00 pm, the rain began… The drama unfolded last night as a bat visited one of the tents but soon turned to laughs as everyone realized it was an extra large moth!!!

Peru Mission Trip Update #8, Monday, March 3, 3008. Mrs. Peters called today at 8:09 am to let us know that they were getting ready to get back in the cage to cross the river and head down the mountain. Last night the team had a bonfire with the boys and said their goodbyes. Most of the students are sad to be leaving. One of the street boys said to a team member that he was sad to say goodbye but knows that he will see them again in Heaven. Continue to pray for them as they begin their journey home.
