SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS - ITEMS NEEDED
We are in need of the following items for our field games during Spiritual Emphasis Days this year. One of the best things about working at FCS is how much parental support we get year after year for events such as Spiritual Emphasis. I would like to thank you in advance for all your support via prayers, donations of supplies and time, etc… Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. We are asking not only for the items below but for your prayers beginning now and continuing through out the events. It is our desire to see or students impacted in a mighty way during this time. I am still looking for host families for the college students that are coming to minister to us…please contact me if you can host a family using the contact info at the end of this letter.

SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS
Please mark your calendar now! We are very excited about this year’s upcoming Spiritual Emphasis Days! We are bringing in a team of college students from Bryan College in Dayton, TN, and a band named Our Heart’s Hero from Huntington, WV. The theme of Spiritual Emphasis Days is Movement and is the message that the team from Bryan College will be presenting to our students. We are also having an evening event for the parents on Thursday, April 29th from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. Please see all the details that were provided by the team below. It is not too often that we impose on your time to ask you to come to a parent education night, but we feel this is so important that we are requiring all high school parents to attend the event. There will be a sign in sheet at the door and your child will receive a Bible test grade for your attendance. Mandatory parent education nights are explained in the school contract. We are giving everyone enough notice in advance so that parents can arrange their schedules, but, if you have a pre-planned activity that will prevent you from attending, please contact me ASAP. We will have the program videotaped and you will be able to watch it at home but only if it is impossible for you to attend.

Movement: Bryan College’s Center for Worldview Studies presents A Conference for High School Juniors and Seniors
Movement can be defined as "a change of place or posture, an organized effort to promote or attain an end"; or it can be defined more simply as "motion." The Movement Conference is the first and most important step towards a full understanding of the Christian story and way of being and acting in the world. It is the beginning of an effort towards the goal of our local communities hearing and being changed by the gospel. Most simply it is a move forward to authentic faith and truth. The Movement Conference is a highly interactive multimedia program designed specifically for high school juniors and seniors. The daylong conference is focused on understanding the Christian Worldview and answering the question who are we in relation to everything thing else that is? By exploring who God is, who we are, and what culture is, we give students a fresh look into the life we are called to live. Our use of pop-culture examples, interactive breakout sessions led by our collegiate staff, and fresh content make Movement a conference every student must be a part of.

SENIOR SLIDESHOW PICTURES
Every year at graduation we have a slideshow featuring our graduates. To include you graduate we need you to get us 1 baby picture, 1 child/ teenage picture and 1 senior picture. The pictures should be sent to ctrevino@fayettevillechristian.com. Your child knows how to scan pictures and email them --- We need them by Feb 22. Funny pictures always are the best! If you have group pictures of the kids over the years we could use some of them too.

PROM GUIDELINES
We enjoy having a prom with our students. It provides us a platform to train students in appropriate behaviors at social events as well as giving them a safe and fun and godly environment to socialize and dance with their friends. They enjoy getting dressed up, getting their hair, and feeling like prince and princesses for the evening. But because of the inherent problems associated with proms in our society, we are very strict with the guidelines of dress and after prom parties. We appreciate your support in this area as this will help ensure that FCS will continue to have proms in the future. Every year we publish our expectations so that parents and students can have a clear understanding of the guidelines. The guidelines we make are biblically based and are for the purpose of promoting modesty and Christian behavior.
Please be aware that all outside dates and dresses must be approved by the administration by April 16th. To ensure that your dress is approved, please use the following standards when purchasing a prom dress. Please do not remove any dress tags until the dress has been approved. Female guests who do not attend FCS must also have their dress approved. If they live out of town, they may send both a front and back view picture of themselves wearing the dress.

Dresses should be modest. FCS's definition of modest is:
1. No cleavage should be shown. Dress should not dip below the imaginary straight line drawn across the top of the bust.
2. The back of the dress should not be below the natural bra line.
3. Bras should be worn unless the dress has a built in bra.
4. Dress hems or slits should not be more than 5 inches above the knees.
5. Dresses should not be "skintight."
6. Dresses may have thin straps or clear plastic straps, but strapless dresses are not allowed.

AFTER PROM PARTIES One parent from each grade is encouraged to host an after prom party for everyone in their child’s class. This party should be well supervised using the same guidelines that the school uses. Please call Mrs. Peters to let her know if you would like to host the party.

PROM DATE GUIDELINES ALL dates must be no older than 20 years of age on the day of the prom. The only students that are allowed to attend are juniors and seniors or an underclassman that is accompanying a junior/senior as a date. Dates that are not a current FCS student must submit the application (below) and a copy of their driver's license by April 16tht.

*Guys if you bring a date from outside the student body of FCS they too must have their dress approved. See dress guidelines above.

Looking for a way to earn tuition credit?
Looking for a way to earn tuition credit? If you host an exchange student you will receive a $600.00 tuition credit. Exchange students are usually 10 or 11th grade students from European countries who are good students and are involved in school life. Many of us have enjoyed hosting students and still maintain relationships with our students even after they leave.
