HOW THE NEW SYSTEM WORKS

Over the course of the last couple of years, we have tried our best to disseminate information to parents, students and staff. Unfortunately, we have not found a dependable way for you to get information from us through e-mail. So, we've changed systems which will make it easier for your to get updates, but will also be easier on us in trying to get updates out.
We've created an announcements blog on our site which utilizes an RSS feed. For those not interested in the technical jargon, RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. In essence, each post we make to this blog becomes a syndicated entry that can be identified by RSS readers.
We've also partnered with FeedMyInbox.com which is a free service you can use to get RSS feeds sent straight to your inbox. It works like this:
1. You put in your email address in the box at the bottom of the screen and click "Submit".
2. A window will open letting you know that a confirmation e-mail has been sent to the address you entered.
3. Go to your e-mail and confirm the subscription to our feed (no cost involved to you).
4. Be sure to add "updates@feedmyinbox.com" to your contact list to guarantee you will get these updates.
Your e-mail address will not be used in any way, shape or form as a gateway for lots of spam to come into your inbox.
Every night, usually between 12 and 1am, an e-mail will be sent out that contains links to the new entries we have made in our blog. In short, this eliminates us from having to do the daily bulletin - the service automatically sends you the new information. This also will hopefully alleviate any e-mail issues we have been having with customers of various internet service providers.
The service is free from Feed My Inbox and you can also add 4 more feeds from your favorite sites without charge. However, you can pay Feed My Inbox $5 a month and get any updates from our blog immediately after we publish them as opposed to getting one e-mail every night.
In addition to the e-mail feature, the blog will allow you to search our posts for information by keyword, and you can also search by category. In other words, if you wanted to see all of the announcements that pertain to the high school, you can click on High School at the top of the page and only those announcements would appear.
We hope that this will be a great new tool for families, faculty and staff. Please do enter your e-mail address soon as we will be cutting off the Daily Bulletin in September.
In Christ,
Bill Priestley
