AP US HISTORY
This is a college level United States survey course, covering the entire span of American history from pre-Columbian times through the present. The purpose of the course is to prepare students to take the National AP Exam in the Spring, to enable them to earn college credit for US History. The course is both reading and writing intensive, with the student learning both history content, and how to interpret historical documents and write college level essays.

AP EUROPEAN HISTORY
This is a college level European History survey course, using the college text, A History Of The Modern World, co-authored by professors from Duke and UNC. The course covers European history from a brief review of the Medieval Period through modern times. The purpose of the course is to prepare students to take the National AP Exam in the Spring, to enable them to earn college credit for European History. The course is both reading and writing intensive, with the student learning both history content, and how to interpret historical documents and write college level essays.

WORLD HISTORY
This is a survey course in World History, beginning with Creation and proceeding through the Medieval Period of European History. Ancient civilizations in Europe, Asia, and Africa are considered in detail. Each civilization is considered in the immediate light of a Christian world-view. Students finish the year by participating in a Medieval Faire in which they present a portion of Medieval European life to the school's elementary students.

US HISTORY
The purpose of this course will be to give students a working understanding of the history of the United States from the period of Reconstruction following the American Civil War to the present. It considers the events of United States history in the context of Scripture and a Christian world-view. Students will participate in several projects to personalize their understanding of key aspects of US History.

CIVICS
The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the workings of the government of the United States, its Constitution, its laws, and its form of free enterprise economics. In the process of studying, the student will see God's intentions and interventions in the course of establishing and maintaining this nation's government.
