HONORS ALGEBRA 2
The goal of Honors Algebra 2 is to provide the student with an overall understanding of the algebraic properties to succeed in college mathematics. Instruction in the classroom will consist of a review of first year algebra and an introduction to the pre-calculus topics. Honors Algebra 2 is a weighted class and includes topics and assignments beyond the regular Algebra 2 class. It is necessary to have a graphing calculator for this class.
ADVANCED FUNCTIONS AND MODELING
This course is designed to fulfill the fourth unit of math. It covers many of the same topics as Pre-Calculus but not with the same rigor. The course is a review of algebraic topics with an introduction to trigonometry. There is an emphasis on using the graphing calculator and modeling mathematical situations.
HONORS PRE-CALCULUS
Honors Pre-Calculus provides the students with an overall understanding of the algebraic properties needed for college mathematics. The course also includes a thorough introduction to trigonometry. There is an emphasis on using the graphing calculator. As an honors class, there are 2-3 assignments to be completed outside of the regular class.
AP CALCULUS
AP Calculus is a college level class. Topics from a first and second semester college class are covered. The level of material is beyond what is expected in a high school class. The students are encouraged to take the AP exam given in May. If they score a 3,4 or 5, they may receive college credit for calculus. Graphing calculators are used extensively in this class and there are 2-3 assignments each quarter to be completed outside of the class.
FTCC STATISTICS - MAT 151
