6TH GRADE HISTORY
The students are required to learn and understand the important events and history that have shaped the continents of North America, South America, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean Islands. The students will learn how God's hand helped to shape the destiny of man and His influence upon governments and lifestyles of people. Special emphasis is placed upon American history from 1900 to the present. Students are required to learn important geography places in all these areas as well. Memorization of the America's Creed and the 50 states and capitals will also be learned during the year.
7TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
This is an overview of world history centered around geographic areas and focusing on culture. The course includes the study of individuals and nations expanding from the Middle Ages to the Victorian Age. Students will gain a greater understanding of God's sovereignty as they study how history unfolds.
8TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
This is an overview of U.S. history from colonization through the Civil War. Throughout the course students will gain a basic understanding of the major events, dates, and individuals in early American history. Students will learn about the U.S. Constitution, national and foreign policies, and the role of the church all which helped shape the United States.
9TH GRADE CIVICS/ECONOMICS
Students are required to learn about the founding of our nation through the people and the influence of God as they attempted to set the foundation for our nation's government. Careful study will be given to the Constitution and the Amendments supporting it and the various roles defined for the leaders who govern. In economics, students will learn how basic principles were discovered and set in place to run a prosperous and free nation. Projects will be assigned to aid in the learning of economics and government.
