Valiant Warriors-Knights!!! |
To the adults who planned and chaperoned--I
too want to add my thanks… I have heard from several boys that the
loved this weekend. I know the hours many of you invested in this
and for some you do not have any kids involved. I pray the lord
blesses you and you know how appreciated you are!
To the boys who participated---Thanks
for being courageous and willing to be involved. I pray God uses
this weekend to strengthen your resolve to walk in Him and to stand
up and be counted as a young warrior for Christ! Let’s take back
FCS and make it into a place where Christ truly reigns… You are the
beginning of what God intends to do! Lead with resolve and purpose
and be not ashamed of the Gospel! I am excited to see what God has
in store for us all next year!

Senior Class |
The senior
class would like to thank all of you who prayed for them these last
two weeks while they were in China. They felt the prayers as they
biked in the cold rain, had courage to talk to Chinese strangers,
shared the gospel some for the first time, and felt Satan’s
resistance to their efforts. We also know God answered your prayers
for their safety on the roads, in 7 cities, in 5 types of
transportation, against crime and in eating food not familiar to us.
You also prayed that people would hear God’s call through these
students and that was abundantly answered. Thanks for standing with
us in prayer. In His Care, The Senior Class

Amazingly, our 3rd
quarter has come to a close. And, during this past quarter we have
experienced some extreme temperatures. So, we have not had as many
Mileage Club days as usual. But, in spite of that, the students
have worked hard at accumulating a grand total of
3156 miles so far this year.
That number includes 2010 miles for the 4th and 5th
grades and 1146 miles for the 6th, 7th and 8th
grades!!!!!
I would like to
recognize some of the top elementary milers: Fourth grade – Joshua
Atkinson (58), Sam Stansberry (54), Amanda Milana (50), Laura Barnes
(50), Tyler Pochon (54), Tyler Rose (42) and Ryley Nygaard (47).
Fifth grade –
Tiffany Roberts (31), Austin Crawford (32), Geoffrey Thompson (35),
Brandon Henrique (38), Justin Baldwin (40) and Michael Fedowitz
((40).
I am really proud
of all of them, as I know that you are. Let’s keep up the great
pace that we have set this year and reach a new record for total
miles. GO
WARRIORS!

|
Field
Day |
We are trying to get started
early this year, and get a jump on securing volunteers for our
annual Field Day. The elementary students really look forward
to the events of this day. In order for it to even be held and
be a success we need at least 20 volunteers. The games will be
held from 8:30 until 11:30. Please look at your schedule and
let us know as soon as possible if you would like to be a part
of this day. We can't do it without our wonderful volunteers!
The date for
the Field Day will be May 24th. Thank you, Linda Neff

I was so proud of
our Warriors! All of them! Our fans and teams showed
great school spirit, as well as good sportsmanship. You all followed Christ’s
example and showered them with kindness and the love of Christ. That
is the true Warrior spirit! It was a great game and in the end our
boys beat them 80-77!

Parents -
We would like to
introduce a new program to FCS. In January we will be offering after
school violin and viola lessons for students 4th grade
and above (parents are also welcomed to participate). There will be
no charge for the lessons, however, if you do not already own an
instrument one would need to be rented. If you are interested in
lessons and/or would like to have more information as it is made
available please contact the office.

Well, I (Mrs.
Neff) have gotten off to a slow start reporting Mileage Club stats
this year. Fortunately, the students have not done the same. They
have been running steadily since school started in August. So, I
want to give everybody the totals for the first semester (sixteen
weeks of running). They have really been putting out a lot of
effort to earn those foot tokens that you see them wearing. I will
start with the Elementary, grades four and five. The fourth grade
has a total of 837 miles. In Mrs. Steffes’
class the top runners are: Jacob Atkinson (37 mi.), Laura Barnes
(31 mi), Amanda Milana (28mi),
Ryley Nygaard
(35 mi), and Samuel Stansberry (39).
Mrs. Sims’ class: Tyler Pochon (39 mi),
Tyler Rose (33 mi), Joshua Widdifield
(22 mi). The fifth grade
has a total of 590 miles. The top milers in Mrs. Adam’s class are:
Justin Baldwin (27mi) and Samantha Ruark
(22 mi). Mrs. Beard’s class: Austin Crawford ((27 mi), Michael
Fedowitz (29 mi), Brandon
Henrique (24 mi), Nathan Hewitt (20 mi),
Taylor Newman (22 mi), Clayton Winebarger (21 mi) and Geoffrey
Thompson (28 mi). The students in
Middle School who had PE on Wed. last semester also participated in
the Mileage Club. The 6th/7th grades totaled
416 miles, while the 8th grade girls had a total of 219
miles. So, the total
mileage for all of the students that participated last semester was
1472 miles!!!!!! They are really on the road to fitness. I am
really proud of all of the effort that they put for. KEEP UP THE
GOOD WORK EVERYBODY!! |

Congratulations to
Nicki Scripko!
She was rated in the top 250 Senior Volleyball
players in the country by PrepVolleyball.com. This is quite an
accomplishment because there are 14,000 volleyball programs across
the nation. So for Nicki to be named a player is outstanding.
Congratulations to Nicki, our volleyball coaches and the entire

Congratulations!
Helen Dahnke is a National Merit Semifinalist 2007 Only 16,000 top
scoring seniors are selected to be a National Merit Semi-Finalist
across the nation. Helen will now compete to win a highly
competitive and prestigious National Merit Finalist award. Only the
2000 top achieving seniors are selected each year for this award.
Achievement is based upon the SAT score and the student’s academic
and extra-curricular record. FCS
has had three previous National Merit winners. To be
such a small school and have this many winners since 1999 is quite a
statement! And all three winners attended FCS since pre-school. In
addition, we have had a couple of semi-finalists and several
commended students as well. Way to go FCS teachers and staff for the
excellent program you have helped build!
